I would never have thought that one day I would use acid colors in my photographs. But inspiration is like the wind – you can never know for sure where it will blow. And so there we stood in a rapeseed field with a yellow hat, amaranth shades, blue eyebrows, a pink bow and a lemon bodysuit, wearing a mermaid cardigan. And it was breathtaking not from the fact that everything came together, but from the fact that it was our beauty, our story. You can hear the sea in flowers, a garden is growing into the sky… The wind is embracing us fragrantly and coolly. We have become fragile, almost transparent, to reflect all the colors of our imagination.
I once had a small interview and I was asked what inspired me. I said “music”, and this answer seemed confusing to some people as I’m not a musician and it’s kinda hard to draw a parallel between my love for music and my photography. But this shoot only happened because of music. In 2014 I heard The Midnight and my journey into synthwave world began.
This music brought neon aesthetics in my life; I started to like vibrant, even acid colours. Bright shades, crazy combinations. Tones and hues I’d never imagined I would use are now seen in my pictures. And I have my music to thank for that!
This is definitely one of my most favourite series ever! I’m very grateful to my amazing team!
Enjoy! (the backstage video will be added later)
