I met Anna during her trip to Scotland. For our shoot I chose a small village near Edinburgh. After we shot there I felt like I wanted to take some more so we went to the Royal Botanic Garden, stopping at the Castle on our way. The violet dress is by Hannah Anson. The second dress was brought by Anna and I really like the way it matches the cherry and rhododendron blossoms as if we had planned it all along. Except that we didn’t, it was spontaneous. As much as I like to have a plan for each shoot, I also try to leave more time than needed and not plan another shoot on the same day because I want to be able to improvise. I meet most of the models for the first time during the shoot and therefore I cannot predict how much time I’d want to spend shooting them. It can be an hour, it can be a half of the day. I love people who are open to my ideas and sudden changes of mind. I love it when I can say “hey, let’s not do as planned, let’s do this instead” and people are up for it!
