You can get inspired by many different things, but for this shoot I was inspired by the… costumes that Darina had made! I really wanted to shoot in them and so I came up with this idea. I asked my sister Maria and a girl from Denmark Caroline to pose together for me in this shoot. Then we drove to the outskirts of Moscow where the deer was living. I didn’t expect anything from the location, I actually thought that there would be no good background and I would have to shoot close-up portraits. So imagine my surprise when I saw this nature! It reminded me of forest tundra so much, considering I have been to one. I couldn’t believe my luck!
I have the best memories of this shoot. It was so much fun, and the owner of the deer was such a nice guy, very friendly and patient. I love that I was able to take pictures of my sister since deer is her favourite animal; I loved taking pictures of Caroline as well because I had never taken pictures of a greenlandic person before; I loved having my friend Kita by my side filming the backstage and helping with different stuff. So many things that I love happened simultaneously: I really like working with animals and with several models, I love when location is so fitting, I love when there’s a friend by my side and I love when new people I meet are fun and bubbly like this guy.
Wow, I used the word “love” really a lot in this blog entry! Time to show you the results and I hope you will like them as much as I do!
